Comic Books of 2023: A Year of Big Changes

2023 has been a year of significant transformations for the comic book industry, with numerous exciting releases from major publishers like Marvel, DC, and Image. Here are some of the biggest comic book projects that have made waves this year.

Marvel Comics in 2023

Marvel celebrated Spider-Man’s 60th anniversary in 2022, and in 2023, it was the X-Men’s turn. The X-Men line continued to deal with the fallout of 2019’s House of X. The new year kicked off with a new X-Men crossover called Sins of Sinister. This storyline jumps ahead to reveal mutantkind’s dark future after Mister Sinister betrays his new allies.

Later in the year, Marvel followed up with a mysterious new storyline called Fall of X. While details about Fall of X are still under wraps, it’s expected to bring mutantkind’s new golden age to a dramatic end.

Marvel also introduced Dark Web, an X-Men/Spider-Man crossover that pits our heroes against Madelyne Pryor and Chasm, better known as Ben Reilly. These two clone villains are tired of being outcasts, and they’re going to get their revenge on the rest of the world.

DC Comics in 2023

As we head into the new year, DC wrapped up the massive Dark Crisis storyline and sped straight ahead into a new crossover called Lazarus Planet.

Other Big Comics of 2023

Apart from Marvel and DC, other publishers also had significant releases. One of the notable ones is the ongoing saga of The Walking Dead’s Clementine.

With so many great options and digital services like Marvel Unlimited and DC Universe Infinite making it easier than ever to start reading, there’s no excuse not to dive into a good book in 2023.

Stay tuned for more updates on the comic book industry as we continue to navigate through this exciting year of big changes.
